This Mill Basin home offers two things rarely found in a Brooklyn rental: a boat slip and an in-ground pool. The freestanding colonial-style house, at 38 Harbor Drive, also offers a ton of space — which, come to think of it, is another thing rarely found in a Brooklyn rental.
This is a new-construction number, built in 2005, and it stands on a street of other houses built concurrently. A three-story, it’s got 4,313 square feet of space, which includes four bedrooms, four baths, a dining room, a family room, and a loft area on the top floor.
There’s also a finished basement with windows, a half bath, tiled floor and a laundry room.
The master bath has a walk-in closet, a sitting area and an en-suite bath with a Jacuzzi tub. The eat-in kitchen is extra large, with granite countertops and sliding doors that open onto a large deck.
Past the deck is the aforementioned swimming pool, which isn’t huge but isn’t a birdbath either. Past that is the boat slip, from which it’s a quick ride out to Jamaica Bay.
It’s a short drive to the beaches at Jacob Riis Park, which makes for a summertime luxury. If you want subway access the location is a whole lot less optimal, but there’s a three-car driveway.
Listed by Micha Hendel of Brown Harris Stevens, the house is renting for $4,500 a month. If you’d rather buy it, that’s an option also: It’ll run $1.1 million in that case. What do you think of it?
