When we caught 446 Degraw in the act of getting a new facade back in September, we didn’t realize that its neighbor on the right would also be getting the same treatment. The inorganic siding at 446 Degraw was replaced with brick as well as the home with blue siding, which made a real effort to emulate the style of the home two doors down. (You can see a before photo from Property Shark after the jump.) Overall, the renovations spruce up the whole block. An interior reno is now happening at 446 Degraw.

  1. I liked the old windows better. All that the old facade needed was new clapboards. ALso, the round-headed door really added a nice touch to the facade.
The new facade is sterile and blah. Sorry.

  2. If I read the earlier post correctly, they replaced the wood frame structure with steel and then put up a brick facade? Doubly weird, but to each his own. Wouldn’t it have been easier just to tear down and start again?
