Christmas isn’t supposed to be about material things but we thought we’d close out this abbreviated day of posting with a look inside the recently rehabbed mansion on Prospect Park West that used to be owned by the actors Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany but was bought in 2008 for $8,450,000 by a family blessed with much Google stock. Well, the renovation, by David Howell Design, is now finished, according to the blog FIPS, and the photos are ready for public consumption. And envy. Enjoy!
The project’s interior designer is Tamara Eaton, formerly the interior designer at David Howell Design. Contact Tamara@tamaratoday.com for interior design project inquiries or visit her website at http://www.tamaratoday.com.
Lovely home and the redo is great – but did another how many millions need to be spent to re-do the already nearly 9 million dollar palace of a movie star couple?
I’d assume that Connelly and Bettany already had the place pretty much tricked out in 2008. People can do waht they like with their money but at some price point a house is pretty much move-in ready. Any changes seem extremely self-indulgent and nearly wasteful.
I mean these same ultra wealthy people – when they buy a $10,000 dollar designer coat – do they just wear the thing, perhaps with a few minor adjustemts for fit or do they they take the new coat to another tailor and have them redo the coat for another $5,000 dollars?
Beautiful, thanks for posting Mr. B! I’ve always wanted to see the interior of this house.
The interiors avoid the ‘museum’ look of many meticulous Victorian interior restorations, but the whole effect seems staged and cold…it didn’t push my envy buttons.
Rob, do you like anything?
thats not a kids room…thats a petri dish for some anal retentive misfit psycho….apart from that some nice design.
love marble in the kitchen. we did the same even though my wife hates it…i’d do it again.
echoing dibs here “Christmas isn’t supposed to be about material things”
So all that gift buying and giving is coincidental?
