Property Shark has compiled a list of the ten largest single-family homes in Brooklyn, and, in a city known for its small spaces, these places are big. The largest home – and the oldest – is 119 95th Street, built in 1847 with 29,126 square-feet of space. This Greek Revival wood home in Bay Ridge (known as the James Farrell Residence, after the Tammany Hall pol) was built originally on the waterfront until it was moved here in 1913. The other nine homes are between 12,196 and 16,914 square feet. Six were built after 1995. And according to this map, they are concentrated in South Brooklyn. The pictures are of the top five properties that did not have under-construction photos via Property Shark, check out the full list after the jump.

Farrel House is a beauty. a real crime committed by the fuglier than thou fedders next door. I wonder if there was any [failed] effort by the community to stop their construction?
i guess hair isn’t the only thing that’s bigger in south brooklyn.
My house is bigger than yours.
Very interesting, The Farrell House is very similar to the George B. and Susan Elkins House, here in Crown Heights North that we’re trying to save. Especially in the top floor small windows. If we get the Elkins house, we’ll have to most definitely visit the Farrell House for historic references.
yo, where’s the 3 car garage on these ppties or the separate maid’s qtrs?
these houses are nice – alot nicer than brownstone houses
Property Shark has 122 76th Street at 14,442 sq. ft. It seems a lot bigger than that, as to the eye it appears larger than the Farrell House.
Property Shark, you EFED up not including this house, my favorite in the nabe.
I’m VERY surprised 122 76th Street in Bay Ridge didn’t make the list. It sits on a ridge and the length of the property takes up an entire block. The length of the actual house is properly half a block and it’s 4 stories. It’s huge!
I’m not surprised Bay Ridge appeared on the list. They have some massive sized houses down near Shore Rd.
I wanna see inside the James Farrell house!!!!!!!!!
Glad it was an Irishman who had the largest house!!!!
😛 out to all the others
