Norah Jones Window Count Reaches Three
Last week we spotted the first window being punched out chez Norah Jones. This week, Lost City passes by and finds there are now three holes in the wall. The excitement builds. Norah Jones Punching Holes in Amity Street [Lost City] Norah Jones’ Windows Coming In [Brownstoner]

11217,
I know many have gone on to wonderful careers. But many on your list were winners well over 20 years ago. I think it is a more recent phenomenon. Maybe I should rephrase my thoughts…how many of them actually get airplay of their new work after the fizzle of the intial success?
Sheena Easton and Tony Braxton…that’s a bit laughable.
Was rooting for my boys in Dave Matthews Band to win Album of the Year. Bummed about Taylor Swift taking that.

The DMB album was really good. I’d like to know what the big deal with Taylor Swift is.
And of course Norah Jones. 🙂
I don’t really agree totally lesbiman. At least as many “Best New Artist” winners have gone on to have incredible careers as those who have not.
Some of the past “Best New Artist Winners” have been:
Beatles
Mariah Carey
Alicia Keys
Crosby Stills & Nash
Carly Simon
Bette Midler
Natalie Cole
Sade
Cyndi Lauper
Carrie Underwood
The Carpenters
Christina Aguilera
Tracy Chapman
LeAnn Rymes
John Legend
Maroon 5
Tony Braxton
Sheena Easton
Tom Jones
Marvin Hamlisch
Bobby Darin
That’s not too shabby, I don’t think!
he should be out at the next drink up.

DIBS,
you’ll have to introduce me.
lesbiman, wasder makes films.
11217,
I always thought that winning the “Best New Artist” grammy was a guarantee for failure. I mean, can you recall out of the last 20 years those that have received the award and are still recording?
They all seem to fail after that fateful third album..the first one we buy because we love it, the second one we buy because we loved the first, but if the third one isn’t good, no one buys the fourth. Real artists can continue to amaze us.
What are your thoughts on this?
btw, I am an absurdly dedicated Carly Simon fan. I’m dying to make the video for her contest, if I only knew a good film maker.
