Banisters repair / remake

Around 10-15 banisters are missing from handrail in the hallway. The handrail is wobbling, so need to be fixed. Do you know woodworker who can make banisters that are exactly same as ones we have? The design of banister is very common to me, can I buy banister itself? Please share stories if you have fix banister. Thank you.

Soxco (http://soxcostairs.com/) just fixed our dangerously wobby handrail on the top floor of our brownstone (now rock solid), made and installed 7 matching ballusters, rebuilt the first tread and riser of our staircase on the parlor floor (curved oak, rounded tread) AND they repaired a split joist that was causing the floor to separate from the wall on our top floor. Antoon (the owner) knows his stuff, as does his great team of carpenters. Very professional, and superb results.

You can make it worse.  If it is old, and the entire stair case and house have settled, the original joints are stressed.  Gaps developed, where original carpenters left none.  Bottom tenons are dovetailed and get tighter when pushed.  Either rebuild the whole thing with loving care, or just replace the missing parts, knowing it is handmade and even with professional repair, will wobble.  Don’t cut or alter only a few parts expecting the system to work as originally.  See Omar and Belda Artwoodcrafts@gmail.com at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  They will turn you some new spindles and install them.  They also reproduce doors and other period architectural woodwork.
