FLATSCREEN WALL MOUNT

I’D APPRECIATE A RECOMMENDATION FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE TO INSTALL A FLAT SCREEN TV ON A WALL, IF IT IS POSSIBLE.  THERE IS A SLIDING WOOD DOOR BEHIND THE WALL AND I’M NOT SURE IT WILL HOLD, BUT NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME THAT.  THANKS

Even if it’s a new drywall wall, with amodern pocket door, there are studs and as long as you mount on the studs, it will hold.

Ok, if this is an old style sliding door built in an old house, this should be ok as those pocket doors were put in thick walls which were studded out.  If this is a new style door built recently with a sheetrock wall, the answer will more than likely be no as the newer door kits are made of narrow walls and do not comprise of studs but have instead flimsy fir wrapped in metal to support the wall.  to make matters worse, the modern door passes close to the wall so it is hard to sink an anchor and long screw without hitting the door. this is something we can do if it can be done.  Also, a few weeks ago I put a post on here for a very newish flat screen tv mount that my neighbor was giving away.  I would be glad to give that to you with no strings attached, ie, you can use someone else to hang the unit. Someone to talk to would be Brian Peirsol.  He is doing work in a house we are currently working in and he is definately someone I would recommend for hanging things (we often do not have the time for these small projects).
