Looking fr a store called Nathan Balem (spelling?)

it’s natan borlam’s. my mom used to take me there as a kid and I was near it last year. funny I remember going there for discount clothes not pricey stuff.

Could you give us a little more information?  Where was the store?  What did they sell?  While it may sounds like “Nathan Balem”, it could be spelled differently.  When I went to Honolulu a few years ago someone told me I could get mainland groceries at a store called “Donkey Hotay”.  Imagine my surprise when I went to the address and it was named “Don Quijote”.

I think you mean Natan Borlam’s at 157 Havemeyer Street in Williamsburg.  I used to go there about 35 years ago when I was a child too.  I took my own children there a few years ago — the clothes are still beautiful, but very expensive.

I used to go there all the time as a child. Drove past last weekend- still there!!!
