Wondering whatever happened to the Butternut Market scheduled to in Bed-Stuy?

“WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ARDENIA’S BUTTERNUT MARKET? “  Here’s the answer. I just spoke with Ardenia Brown about why it hasn’t opened but is still in the works.

The first thing you should know is Ardenia Brown is a warrior. She has not and will never abandon her goal and commitment to bring fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and prepared foods – organic and conventional – to Bedford-Stuyvesant!

But, the recent fire at 307 Stuyvesant Avenue, caused a plethora of serious problems impossible to address in the time frame necessary to make Butternut Market’s opening in that space financially feasible. The Economy was also a consideration in Ardenia’s decision to move on.

So, for the moment, Beford-Stuyvesant remains a food desert. 

But Ardenia Brown is undeterred. She will never give up until her dream becomes reality. She is as pro-active as visionary. So all of you still longing to shop in your own neighborhood for quality food please be advised: Ardenia is working 24/7 to fulfill your desire for fresh clean healthy & deliciously affordable food presented for sale in some swell pleasurable environment conducive to heavenly addictive shopping!

Consequently, THE BUTTERNUT MARKET WILL OPEN ! It will open in a new location right here in Bedford-Stuyvesant with its original mission unchanged. However, since the disappointment over the lost of the Solomon’s Porch space was huge – Ardenia has decided it best to only announce the new location and date when absolutely certain everything is in order for the new grand opening.

I’m not optimistic that they’ll “get it” haiderbk, like the guys on the corner of Halsey & Lewis who have a really crappy selection.

the good thing is some one else is openning food mart where they will have organic fruits, vegitable, and many other goodies.

 Solomon’s Porch was ordered closed by the Department of Health under her managerial watch, no? Looks like another glorfied bodega going in that spot.  But, on a posotive note, new restaurnat opening across the street in about a month.
