Rebuild roof hatch

I’d suggest using a roofer and, if you have a wooden hatch, considering a modern steel one, which is more secure and far easier to open from the inside.

Looks like someone tried to break into our brownstone via the roof hatch. The wood is damaged.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a contractor who could do a good job rebuilding our roof hatch—at a reasonable cost? Would I just go to a roof contractor? Thank you!
