Removal of parlor floor fireplace - structural issues

We moved our kitchen from the back of the parlor to the middle. The rear mantel was removed for the prior owner’s kitchen renovation and the middle for our’s. Unless you plan to chop out the chimney breast, i am not sure why you would have “structural problems.”

We are renovating our kitchen and unfortunately we will have to remove one of the fireplaces on the parlor floor for this to work out.
It’s a 3-story building so there’s only one floor above and ideally we want to keep the fireplace on the top floor. Has anyone done this before? Did you have any structural problems with the weight of the fireplace above?

The flu from below (is your boiler vented through it?) also uses the same chimney. It is best to just remove the mantel and build your cabinets etc around the chimney flue.
