High Hats?

Hi. Any recommendations on high hats for a house reno? Or things to consider when picking these lights? Just starting the search and educating myself in this area. Thanks!

LED fixtures are great and ever-lasting You can get small unobtrusive 10-15w (60-100w equivalent) dimmable fixtures at big-box stores and are easy to install. And don’t use too many, Nothing like having a nice ceiling ruined by 20 lights. Most every reno you see on this site has too many lights, no doubt impelled by the Lighting Council of America’s Standard or some other dubious agency..

A full gut? If not, search for them using the word “renovator” which can be installed by simply boring holes the diameter of the light enclosure. There are so many different types of enclosures for ceiling lights. I’d say the smaller the better. As far as positioning, you may want to think of them “washing” walls with light. And don’t waste money going to low voltage. Just use regular 110/120 v and use LED bulbs.
