I’m getting $2500 worth of building supplies boomed up through the 3rd floor window in Brooklyn.

Delivery truck was supposed to come between 8am-930am because that’s when my side of the street has alternate side parking.

Two cars right smack in front of my building didn’t move. And of course the NYPD Traffic agent, who always seems to give me a ticket, never showed up.

Anyway the boom truck showed up at 930. I told him he’s gotta get here before 9am or cars will start taking up the spots. The boom truck will not lift over cars.

We rescheduled for Monday morning ( next street sweeping).

How can I reserve that area so no one parks in it Sunday evening? Signs asking for people to be nice and not park there? Thats not going to work. Traffic cones? They’ll get tossed.

I can take up one spot. I might even rent a Uhaul truck to take up the rest of the space. The boom truck is 30′ long.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

I wonder if it would be possible to double park the boom truck and hoist over just one parking space. You could probably get a permit to restrict those spaces that would allow you to tow violators, although I’m sure it would be difficult and expensive. Alternatively, perhaps the supplier could use a forklift and deliver to your areaway, and you could hoist the load to the window with a block and tackle system.
