Brick Facade Restoration Gone Bad

There are many Amins in the masonry business !? I used an Amin once who used acid to clean the outside of a building, but did nothing to protect my glass in the windows, it got burned! Horrible streaks all down the glass. That Amin has since retired and lives in Bangladesh. It is important to have someone on site to watch out for your property while contractors are doing this kind or work, not only to protect yours, but your neighbors.

My building is located in a NYC landmark district and a permit for minor work is required when performing restoration work. I faced a recent issue while engaging with Amin Home Improvement to re-point a brick façade. Amin presented themselves as highly skilled and experienced in restoration work. However, they utilized power washing pressure exceeding 1000 psi while Landmarks rules for cleaning masonry state that the pressure must be below 500 psi. The extra pressure caused major water damage to my windows and floor boards. This experience has proved time consuming and costly so I would like to alert others.

100PSI, or 1000PSI, your windows are not properly sealed. this has nothing to do with your contractor. amin does top notch work.

I have a friend who had a similar problem w/ him. It was not a matter of poor window installation.
