Backflow preventer questions
The DEP allows exemptions from a backflow preventer on form http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/pdf/water_sewer/7_Form_for_BPD_Exemption_Domestic.pdf. But it says it is only applicable when there is one domestic service. Has anyone gotten the exemption? If I have a sprinkler feed as well as a potable water line would this count as two (making me not eligible for the exemption)? Thanks as always…

In my place DEP required a backflow preventer and in the process they also required a 3 inch combined main (mine was only 2 inch). I think I had 2 seperate lines before. I had to replace the whole main also because there was no shutoff valve on the street. Amazing stuff to spend your money on.
