Lots'o'water in basement

Hi all! Have tried searching the achieves but having trouble getting the comments to load so I thought I would ask a much asked question to you all….   I am looking for recommedations for waterproofing companies for our very wet basement. I think it’s probably going to be a kinda big job and really would love to use someone that is really knowledgible about waterproofing so we can hopefully get it right the first time.   Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Before you do anything, hire an engineer with experience in this area.  A waterproofing company will take you for a ride, doing sump pumps, French drains, digging down around your house and applying membrane to foundation, etc.  All of which may be necessary, but there may be a simpler solution.  Does the water come from a rising water table or from exterior water?  Is your roof draining away from the house?  Does you basement get wet with every storm or just big rainfalls?   Believe me, I’m in the middle of a job like yours.  Paying a few hundred dollars for an engineer’s inspection and report may save you thousands in the long run, not to mention heartache when you find your basement still wet after spending all that money.

This question is asked constantly.  I’d look in the archives.  People recommend a range of remedies starting w/ french drains.
