Looking for a great GRAT mason!! Suggestions or recommendations??

I need to replace a parapet wall on the roof of a three story building in Brooklyn. I’m not looking for a GC. The mason needs to really know what they are doing because the job will also include replacing lintels above the top floor windows where water has been penetrating. No jokers or amateurs — this is a real job, not just some simple pointing or patching. The mason must be licensed and insured and be able to connect me with at least two satisfied customers where simiar work has been done. So, who is the best mason in Brookyn??

To date, I have not received a legitimate response to this post. Brownstone Authority must think they are too good to respond to repeated calls so best of luck to anyone who calls them? And references??? Forget it. I’ve yet to find a mason that can provide decent references.

You don’t say if your building is historic or not but if it is, you might want to look at restoration contractors, if only for the fact that restoration contractors would typically deal with masonry, structural, waterproofing, access and permitting on the same site. If that makes sense to your specific inquiry, Big Apple Restoration and Soho Restoration have the skill sets and insurance to handle this sort of gig. That said, a restoration contractor would need plans from which to work. If you’re not working with an architect, I’d recommend Lisa Easton Architects. Lisa and her team are very easy to work with and they understand the needs of NYC’s historic buildings.
