month to moth after lease expires?

We send our tenants a renewal agreement, which basically says they are staying for another year under the terms of the lease previously signed.  If you are fine with month-to-month, you still may want to have some written agreement re: either party giving notice, just so everyone is clear.

hi all- I could’ve swore there was some kind of rule or law about when a tenants lease expires…that it atomatically goes to a month to month situation but i cant seem to find any info. i also thought it was in our lease but isnt. I’m a landlord and my tenants lease expired 2 months ago (i totally flaked) and it got me wondering what the situation would be when it lapses. (simple lease non rent stabalised/control etc) Also do you all remind your tenants in advance that their lease is up for renewal?
