Who do i call to clean my heating ducts?

Hard to think about heating now, but we just closed on a house with an old forced air heating system, and our inspector said the ducts needed a good cleaning. Does anyone have a recommendation of how I should call? How much do you think i should expect to pay? House is about 2400 sq feet over three floors. Thank you!

agree that it’s probably not something that needs to happen regularly, but the gunk, cobwebs and general nastiness that has accumulated on the grates and under the air return is freaking me out

We had the same ductwork that was used with coal heat in the past. Getting ours cleaned greatly reduced the black dust in the house (sadly, not all of the dust).

I had Sears do it the one time I’ve needed to do it so far and I think I chose them based on recs here. They came out and cleaned all the vents and the dryer duct, which really needed it. Scheduling was a little tricky because I think they needed to be able to park in front of our building (luckily we are at a hydrant).

I cannot recommend anyone in particular but can say that you can google duct cleaning to find someone. some HVAC companies do it, but then again there are companies whose sole existence is premised on duct cleaning.
