Split Unit Outdoor Placement - Noise Considerations?

I am looking to get a small split-unit installed for garden apartment. It would be one of the smallest, like 9K BTU. What are the noise considerations for placing the outdoor unit? Is it likely to bother a neighbor or tenant who has a bedroom 5 feet away? 10 feet away? Of course, people can always complain, but realistically how loud are the outdoor units? Like a “typical” window A/C, or louder?
Also I have read placing it on the frame can cause more vibration than placing it on the ground, what are the main lessons people have experienced?

You can’t hear them at all, even standing next to them. Maybe a faint hum like a fan on low.
There are rules on how far from the property line they need to be.
