Does anyone have heating system with multiple loops and one pump.
Or do you need a 1 pump for each loop?

Depends on the flow rates required by the size of the loops. You can use zone valves rather than multiple pumps but that is up to the system designer

It’s what eman said. It depends on who designed it and if they decided to use multiple circulators or zone valves. Did you talk to an engineer?

I had to think about this myself and decided that one pump should just work fine in my case (2 panel radiators per loop). If you need very hot temps at higher water flow maybe independent pumps work better. The system is not connected yet so I can’t tell you if it works 😉
Check out Cross Manifold by the way, nice zone valve solution with integrated controller.

One pump serving multiple, individually (zone) valved loops is common. An improvement over the standard installation is to have that one pump be a variable speed model. That is a pump that ramps its rotations up and down based on the number of zones calling for heat.
