High velocity air conditioning
Does anyone have experience with high velocity air conditioning? We intend to put AC in our house, and are debating all options. Thank you

I agree with dave. Go with someone authorized by the manufacturer. The advantage to HV is that the ducts, other than the main ducts, fit in existing walls, so you minimize the number of soffets. The downside is that, compared with regular central air, you will hear it. There will likely be some soffets near the air handlers. We managed to lose only closet space and not have living space soffets, but one air handler is too close to a bedroom and we hear it. Also, instead of one register per room, you will have little vents all over the place.

I just had a UNICO system installed in PA…both AC and an auxiliary heating unit as well. hey have to know what they are doing to spec out tyhe handler and the right number of vents. Mu guys did a great job but they were adamant about getting 14+ vents throughout the house so the system wpouldn’t “whistle.” It doesn’t and it works great.
