where to buy Velux skylights?

Anyone have a recommendation of a place that sells and installs Velux skylights? Looking for a place that does the install too since I don’t have a contractor in mind. I want to install a skylight over our street level hatch, so this would not be a job for a roofer.

We called around to a bunch of places and ultimately ended up buying at Home Depot which was actually fine and they have good return policies. We had a very difficult time though finding anyone to install them (( for instance windows we are etc would order them but not install). A half dozen roofers were all over the map with bids, saying they would do the roof but not interior work, or simply wouldn’t touch them–roofers hate skylights because they are prone to leakage. The guy we ended up using sucked and the GC he partnered with to do the interior also cut lots of corners and sucked.
I know that’s not what you’re looking for, but just putting it out there that bizarrely it’s more complicated than we expected.

I purchased a couple years ago from Windows We Are 718-836-8083 with informative service and successful results

@ Jeremy did Windows We Are install them for you? Or do you have a tip for someone who could install?

@Lurker Good idea with Home Depot, but did they come out to measure? I wouldn’t even know how to take the dimensions properly.

Windows We Are only supplied for me, and was very helpful when discussing measurements that I provided based on discussion with my GC. I will not hire or refer the GC for any future work for reasons other than the the skylight work.
I generally find it is better to work with people familiar with specific products – especially when concerning things possibly causing leaks at the roof. My suggestion is take a look at available measurements and certified installers found at veluxusa.com/products/skylights

I am not one to recommend home depot and i am not sure how well the vet their sub contractors, but the home depots have a window and door counter. Their job is to work with customers for custom orders. Most of these skylights for older house are probably a custom size. They will send someone out.

Most people cannot access roofs to measure. Just us lucky folk in flat roofed town houses.

oh I bought a standard size and did not buy a custom one. I can’t speak to working with HD for that.
