I need to install wheelchair access to the garden apartment of a brownstone. I could put in a ramp, but the lowered grade of the ramp increases the flow of rainwater toward the building, requiring a drain. This is problematic, and the alternative of a sump pump would run the risk of catastrophe from a failure to operate.
I’ve looked at wheelchair elevators, but all seem to require more footprint than exists. Any ideas as to solutions, resources, etc. would be appreciated. Thank you.
