tips on finding a Architect

looking for a list of good Architects in Brooklyn, my past experience with an individual architect (referred by a friend) has been horrible they don’t pickup phone/respond to texts at all, made mistakes on lifting SWO. I think working with a company/team will get me a better experience instead of a single person, since I would be able to have someone at least respond to me. Besides Google is there any directory I can use to find a decent architect? I am a GC btw.

I think it really depends as a GC what you’re set up to do. You could have a relationship with an expeditor, and just need someone to stamp plans, or you might want an architect who can provide expediting services. You might want someone who has a lot of fancy design experience, or someone who knows how to squeeze the most out of the code. Many architects like to manage the whole project for a fee, but if you just want someone who can pull permits and lift SWOs, that would be overkill. Make some calls and you’ll find out who is who.
