Smoke Detector/Co2 Alarm

I was thinking of the nest but I’m picking a few up from the fire department tomorrow. Not sure how fancy they are but they are up to code.

I need to replace a smoke detector/Co2 alarm unit and I’m wondering are people getting the units with the built in 10 year battery alarms? I see reviews of them being sensitive and going off and needing to basically smash it so the alarms stops going off. Does anyone have the voice activated ones? Also according to HPD they must have an end of life alarm. All of the beeps/chirps sound alike to me. I have a 2 family home in Bed Stuy. Thank you.

I use Nest protect (hardwired) and am happy with them (half dozen). Cant be placed by air registers or returns though as the dust will accumulate on the sensor and cause false alarms. Other than placement ive been very happy and love the motion night light feature.
