The construction of these walls may seem unique or difficult for people who have never done this stuff but for those of us who have, the framing in these houses is very simple. An engineer would be overkill. An engineer is needed to move walls.

I am happy to share a big thank you to HomeInspector who came out to our house to help with our moth problem. In particular, he identified the location of the studs and beams in the walls and ceilings of our vestibule and the surrounding rooms, so that we will be able to proceed with the moth treatment, getting it into the right places without damaging any other parts of our house. He did this with great attention to detail, good humor, and commitment to helping us get to the bottom of our moth issue. And he was very generous with his time. I agree with HomeInspector, that it is not that hard to locate studs. You can use a stud finder or an infrared camera. Glad to hear that he helped you out.
