red hardwood flooring with recessed lighting 5000k
IMO 5000 K lighting looks awful indoors, but that’s very subjective.

does recessed lighting 5000k match with red hardwood floors?

Why not just try bulbs of different kelvin to see what you like? If you are buying pricey bulbs begin with cheap ones until you find what you like. Imho, 5000k does not “match” but they may compliment. A lower kelvin would match.
All this is subjective; i like a warmer white myself, 2800 k in my shop, and one of my vendors thinks i should have 4000k and even bought me a dozen bulbs – so i mix them but cant say i like them.

In old houses the warm white, the mid range kelvin, 2700, looks better. Like the glow of a candle. You have to be a romantic to appreciate that.

We even use 2200k LED tapers with dimmers in chandeliers. 2700 k is good for standard bulbs. 5000 is what you get from most old-style 8ft fluorescent shop light tubes.

You don’t want more than 3,000k or skin starts looking blue-green, colors look off and you’re basically living in a warehouse or industrial setting. The Ideal is somewhere between 2 and 3k and even 3k is too blue for many people. Even though those higher K are called “daylight” they look really off when produced by LEDs.

The reality is that your LED K number isn’t as important as its CRI. You want a CRI of 90 or higher, which will ensure that colors are true to what you would see in full sunlight. Of course, the ‘bluer’ the source (higher K tends to turn bluer while lower K tends to turn yellower), the lower the CRI. 3000K is really the sweet spot for high CRI and true white light, imo.
