Recommendations for HVAC on roof
Zhideng i used Palone for a 5-ton although i wish i would have spec’d no interior insulation on outside ductwork (got mold) but rather raw ducts with exterior insulation and a wrap (which i eventually did myself). Some other issues with them but my point is the dunnage was just fine.

I need some recommendations for putting condensers across beams on my roof. Does anyone have any experience with this or can recommend someone?

Check the archive (search for “dunnage). I believe most homeowners have installed dunnage to carry the condensers. Others have utilized existing roof beams, but that involves drilling through the roof membrane and isn’t always possible based on where the beams are located. An HVAC contractor should be able to tell you what’s appropriate for your particular situation.

My HVAC company did all of this. Hired crane, beams lifted (I had my neighbor listed as additional insured as they were hoisting the beams across their roof from an adjacent street). I’m curious as to how a legitimate HVAC company can be in business in NYC and not provide this service.

If you can mount the condensers on your parapet you will save a lot of money.

The AC units can not sit on the roof structure. The reason is because if the roof catches on fire the heavy equipment could fall and kill a firefighter. They want them mounted on steel or masonry that is fire resistant.

@dorkofwindsor, do you mind sharing which company you used?
