I’ve got an old house in Manhattan that needs a new roof as well as few carpentry jobs related to it. The house is landmarked (of course!) so I need a roofer with experience dealing with them. It’s an old-fashioned gable roof, with dormers.
The original roof was wood shakes, so I was thinking of using reproduction (faux) wood shake tiles.
I got an estimate from Mand Restoration which was not a shocker, and he seemed to be pretty knowledgeable, but I’d like to get 1 or 2 other bids, of course.
Any recommendations for roofers with experience beyond the usual flat roofs would be much appreciated.
