Looking for a Vestibule Tile Floor
I’m close to making a smaller size version of this design using the remaining tiles in a similar pattern, I’m just short a few plain tiles of each shape so this may work out.
If anyone has any remnants let me know, I would love to make this work.
Thanks

Hi all, I’m looking to restore or replace my vestibule floor which is missing a lot of tile!
If you have or know someone who has any info I’d be very interested.
Thanks! [20170227_111616](//muut.com/u/brownstoner/s3/:brownstoner:KWao:20170227_111616.jpg.jpg)

I was looking for similar tile recently. With that much tile missing, you should just replace in a similar style. I found these guys after a ton of a research. Send a picture and see what they say: https://www.londonmosaic.com/gallery-victorian-and-modern-mosiac-tiling.htm#!tag=all&page=1

I was going to say it’s probably expensive, haha.

As it is just for a vestibule; it is actually not that expensive. It is the shipping that costs the money.
So either take a trip to London & pick some up & two people can haul it back in their hand luggage, just make sure no-one actually weighs it!
Or just pay for the shipping. It will make a huge difference to your entrance!

Resident is right. Even if it’s expensive, it’s money well spent. What’s the most it can cost? $5k?

That’s what I’m guessing, the style is very close to the original and of course in perfect condition! Thanks

I’m just seeing this thread. I have encaustic tile in my Bed-Stuy townhouse. It’s 1/4” thick, difficult to replace, but I found a place down south, who has a lot of the original molds(moulds?) and the correct colors and patterns as well. I kept the tiles that were salvageable, and bought a bunch of replacements. Having someone rebuild it tile by tile was the real pricey bit, but I’ve got a guy for that too. Two years later no one can tell the difference. Good Luck.
