In house Custom casting in NYC

I would like to hear a general range for how much you would charge to cast and assemble something fairly standard, like an octagonal newel post with a ball finial. Can you do grey iron or only aluminum? I know how to price this, but I think it would be interesting to get a discussion going. I’d love to see more people fix up their architectural iron work, but I think a lot of folks are charging way too much for this work, and we end up with a lot of cheap steel product.
