Hinges

rebholution: when i first revealed how we deal with this issue, by cutting the hinges, i was opening the door for you to say “how do i get you to do that?” i do run a business. i do not like to hard sell people, but i do sometimes open the door a little and leave it open. i work out of my house, so i cannot have the world and their brother showing up here, but if someone finds there way to me, i try to accommodate them, if only because they are taking an interest in what i do. i also stock some stuff here but mostly for customers whom i am doing actual work for.

i have to follow that link. we go through this here a lot as we have to work on these and some of the iron ones are always cracked. now you have to be careful, the new ones may not swing on the same axis.

i just looked at those hinges. they are going to be a lot lighter; thinner metal and thinner pin (they are hardware hinges not real door hinges). when you apply these, they will not work as well as the bulky hinges you have. you might get away with it, but i could never install that and bill a customer. you would be better to take a full size hinge that aligns with the others and cut the leaves of it.
