Help on DOB electrical inspection
Could you simply have no outlet at all until after the inspection?

This is about the placement of an electrical receptables in the kitchen island.
It seems that DOB requires receptacles to placed on the sides of kitchen island. However, as a first time NYC house renovators, we took it for granted and had our waterfall countertop ( extends ~10 inches from the base) installed before DOB electrical inspection. I am searching for innovative ways that require the least efforts/costs and enable us to pass inspection.
210.52(C) Exception to (5) states: Receptacles mounted below a countertop in accordance with this exception shall not be located where the countertop extends more than (6 in.) beyond its support base.
What I am thinking right now: build a temporary ” cover” at the back so the countertop looks to extend 2-3 inch beyond the base and then we put the receptables on the temp cover for DOB inspection. Any other ways? TIA!
