Have been in the Brownstone Community for some years. It seems to me that since the change to the new format there are a lot less people participating in the discussions weekly than in the past. Is this accurate or is it my misconception?

MDR and others, thank you for your posts. We just experienced last night some temporary (late night only?) issues with stories being barely visible, like MDR describes. We are looking into it.

I have no problem with ignoring ads. I’m glad that I can once again comment from my phone which I use far more than my desktop computer.

Since the site was redesigned I only look at it occasionally. It’s infested with ads on all sides, hemmed in by pointless sidebars such that the actual reading space is about one quarter of my screen. I think there’s still good content but unfortunately it almost doesn’t seem worth the effort.

Wow, after having been converted to a voyeur only by way of the update, this post encouraged me to try to log back in again, with success! I do hope that people come back, the discussion has been impacted in my experience. Fortunately for me, I’m now happily done with my renovation at this stage, but lord knows maintenance will keep me coming back with questions.
