When drawing plans for an alteration to an existing building, does a Structural Engineer need/required to visit the subject premise in order to draw plans to depict the existing structure or can he/she review the existing approved plans with the DOB and draw plans according to the last set of plans?
Would you please be able to provide a reference of such authority?

Yes, if they are professionals they will usually to go to the site to verify the actual conditions and dimensions and not rely on others’ representations that may be incorrect.
