DOB Expeditors

My neighbor plans on doing major work on his house – once I see a job filing on BIS – does anyone know any expeditors I can contact that frequent the DOB often enough to obtain the plans?

Blueprints will only show you what they filed with the DOB, not the work they intend to actually do where they move their walls inside your home. Jussayin.

rather than hiring an expediter, i recommend you take some time out of your day from endlessly creating new and similarly inscrutable comment threads to visit DOB yourself and request the drawings.

I fear I would have to have the fallen sheetrock picked up, put up new party walls on my side and then new physical walls – therefore having a smaller house.

I so hope you are right slope. I just sense the walls will fall, I call the DOB and I get violations because the walls aren’t up to standard.

Seriously, this is paranoia. They are not going to bust open a wall and build into your living room. There are tons of real estate scams and scammers out there and this is just not one of them.

They had an architect open house on 12/15 and I saw the building manager pointing out what he wanted done to the one hire on 1/9. I’m 100% sure they will steal property – I just don’t know how to stop this.

if they’re filing with DOB they would need an architect to create and file drawings.

You don’t need an architect for a rebrick, restoop, recement job. But if you plan on stealing/integrating some of my property than you would need one.

You have to go to the DOB to see the drawings. I’m sure they will be happy to accomodate you.
