No-weed front yard?

my backyard is FULL of weeds, but the front has none.  I have a tree out there, another bush, some hedges, ivy and there is no sun, = no weeds..

no… if a plant can grow, weeds can as well..you can mulch and grow dense plantings, which will crowd out most , but not all weeds

ground cover such as ivy or pachysandra should crowd out most weeds.

There are plenty of astroturf frond yards in Bay Ridge….hey, it’s an idea! 🙂

You don’t say how big the area is, or whether it’s in sun or shade. What about laying down a brick patio — much warmer than concrete. Then you can plant flowers in pots of varying heights and sizes. But stay away from ivy — it’s an invasive and almost impossible to eradicate. It’s the Weed of All Weeds.

Plant some pachysandra.  It’ll crowd out most all weeds.  Don’t use ivy.  It grows very fast and you’ll be finding yourself trimming it back every few weeks, like I have to do  🙁

Also, both of these remain green all winter which is nice.   Cheap flats can be had at HD or Brooklyn Terminal Market (cheaper)
