Shade Sails

Anyone have experience with shade sails (http://www.backyardcity.com/Shade-Sails.htm)? Do you have an installer you recommend? Do they work? Problems with wind, rain, tearing? I’m thinking about covering a back patio, roughly 10′ X 11′ that is in full sun (used to be shaded by a tree that fell over the winter) and am looking for effective, attractive alternatives to umbrellas.

I installed one for myself. It was a fairly easy install. I attached 2 points to my wall, and just extended 2 deck posts as the other 2 points. It is 11’x11′, and very well made. Got in on overstock.com for something like $80…delivered free. Rain will come right thru it, but it morning dew doesn’t, and you can sit under it in a misty drizzle. If installed well, it can withstand a good strong wind, but I wouldn’t want to test it on a Brooklyn tornado :-). It turned a hardly used area on my sunny deck into the most popular area.
They come in lots of colors, and also a triangular shape, but it sounds like you need the square sail.
Looks good,  too. Not as pretty as one of my pergolas, but it’s inexpensive.
