Wondering if anyone has ever successfully hired someone to repair a very squeaky original wood parquet floor. I’d prefer to keep the actual floor intact and repair/shore up the subfloor from below, we don’t have much of a ceiling underneath so access to the subfloor won’t be an issue. I’ve done a bit of googling on the topic and have found many different methods that can be used for reducing the squeak. What I can not seem to find is anyone in Brooklyn who seems to do this type of work, and also has a verifiable presence. (ie, angies list, other online recommendations). Anyone had work like this done and care to make a recommendation? Thanks so much!

you can do this yourself, but it is a troublesome if there are a lot of spots. Capital Wood Floors on 3rd ave sells an epoxy injection kit designed for this purpose. Simply drill a 1/8″ hole in the floor and inject the epoxy. works best where floors are spongy and need a hard surface to bear on. Don’t drill through the sub floor. this can be expensive if you have to do a lot of spots -even if you do it yourself. any of the flooring contractors recommended on here can do this for you. Steve

4th Jose. He refinished our 3rd floor and 2nd floor hall parquet floors. I have secured him to do the 2nd floor main living area next. Ditto all that was stated above plus, he really thinks about the project and will go above and beyond to make it look right. He has amassed an impressive collection of various flooring types over the years and pulls from them like a library to help with current projects. Truly a keeper as Evperry stated.
