Cleaning a pre-war mosaic floor
Our pre-war co-op has mosaic floor common hallways, circa 1910, which we are contemplating restoring / cleaning. They are decidedly looking tired (not necessarily too much cracking). Would appreciate suggestions on the dos and don’ts or experiences other have had on this topic.

Thanks so much – does it need to be re-sealed after the cleaning ?

Make a poultice of baking soda & peroxide & use a soft brush. If stains don’t go away, leave the mixture on for a day covered w/ saran wrap. Whatever else, do not use ammonia. There should be several forum posts in the archives on how to do it.
