Reasonable Price Per Electrical Point?

In midst of renovation, we are adding some light fixtures, outlets and switches.  Wondering what people think a reasonable price per point is (I”m not sure I even understand what constitutes a point, so clarification on that welcome too).  We are being quoted $500 per point, whch seems high to me. Thank you.

You should get an overall price for your entire scope of work rather than on a point by point basis which may be appropriate for work of limited scope and change orders. Running 10 lights in a row in a single room is a lot different than running 10 lights in 10 different rooms. Point by point is a crude pricing method for a comprehensive electrical project. Also, keep in mind that electrical work often requires drywall work and painting at a minimum. Ed Kopel Architects, PC

$500 per point is ridiculous.   A “point” is generally where the wiring meets the outside world, like outlets, switches, overhead lights.

I agree with Green.  My electricians charge the same 150-200.   Try this company:  Munetz Electrical Contracting Corp.  Thomas Munetz.  Licensed & Insured.  718-416-2686.  Munetz is on a job for one of my customers now and all of my customers like him. steve

Hi 11231 am a General contractor & my electrician normally charge around 150 to about 200 per point, but 500 per point sounds a little high to me, I would get a few more quotes from other mompanies. Heres my electricians E-mail Ricpowerman@gmail.com If you need someone to give you some insight on pricing. He can answer any question you may have. Good luck
