Cost for electrical upgrade with dedicated circuits

I have a 4th floor apt in a Brownstone.  I’m looking to upgrade from 30 amp service (with fuses) to 60 amp service.  Also need 3 dedicated 20 amp circuits installed in apt.  I have a breaker box in the apt, although it is empty except for the wire going into the basement.  How much should a licensed electrician run me for this?

I’m currently having my third floor apartment done pretty much as you’re describing, and I’m using Paul at Paje Mechanical. The total cost is $10,100, but I had some other more minor work done on the other floors as well. I also had to add a new meter and get new groundings in the basement. If I had to guestimate, I’d say about $7,000 of the total was for just the work on the third floor. In any case, I think you’re going to need a 60 amp riser coming up from the basement, which means either going outside the building or through the walls of the apartments below. Also expect to have holes and channels all through your drywall because by the sounds of it, you’re going to need all new wiring.

About Paul, his quote came in $2000 below his nearest competitor, and $7500 below another. He’s sticking to his work, so everything is getting done for the price we agreed on, but things are running a good bit longer than the time he quoted me.
