Need contractor to fish coaxial cable through my walls

My living room Cable TV service is bad (picture freezes for several seconds every minute or two). I’ve tried several different boxes and have had Optimum tech guys out to the house several times to no avail. The bedroom tv works just fine. The most recent tech guy said that he thought that the cable currently running in my walls was faulty and that I should hire a contractor to fish it through and replace it. Is this something an electrician does? Any recs? Thanks

It’s important to install the proper cable. I think a good electrician can do this work with ease. There is another option that you can add a new cable outlet to an outside wall. You can discuss that thing with your electrician. Hiring a contractor for that work is not a good deal.

When I had this problem the tech diagnosed that I needed another “drop” from the cable pole to my house. The current connection was already “split” too many times to other devices, make sure that is not your problem and that the drop from the pole is not being split amongst different neighbors.

Just buy fishing tape and coax and do it yourself. If there is already a cable there you can just attach the new cable to the old and pull it through. Although I doubt that the coax in the wall is bad unless it comes in from outside. Then it might have water in it and should be completely replaced along with the exterior splitter all the way to the tv.

an electrician may be able to do this with less damage to the walls than others as they do this all the time. But I am not sure one is necessary. if you wish an electrician, try tom munetz 718-416-2686\. I just got off the phone with him and I had mentioned that I hope he does not mind me sending him these small service jobs and he said he is more than pleased to do them. his prices are reasonable as well.
