1 to 2 Family Conversion in Woodside, Queens.

Hi All, Looking to hire a PE/RA for a 1-2 family conversion in Woodside (11377) with new CofO. Neighborhood zoned R4B, (Queens zoning map 13C), and a few homes in the area have already been converted to 2 family. Can anyone recommend a PE/RA that has experience with such conversions? I checked the permits online for the PEs/RAs of record for a few of the conversions already completed in the neighborhood, but could only find 1 PE that neither had violations assessed nor had their plans initially rejected by the DOB –and he is a solo who is too busy at the moment. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I just re-read your post and am wondering what you meant about having plans “initially rejected”. 99.99% of all plans the get reviewed by a plan examiner get rejected or disapproved the first round. In fact, it usually takes at least three rounds of plan exams before a sizable job will get approved. Do not assume that a PE or RA is not good because the plans were disapproved the first time.

We just finished up a job in Astoria and another in Woodside on 39th Ave, off of 52nd Street. We do C of O jobs all the time. I’d be happy to speak with you. Jim Hill, RA, LEED AP Urban Pioneering Architecture, DPC
