we need an architect

someone willing to do things on a budget, not one of these million dollar gut types, though I know it will cost real money. our brownstone is stripped of many details but I have no interest in modern look. we are creative but not fancy. bones and structure are more important than finishes… want someone creative, good communicator. we are looking to: renovate three kitchens, two baths, re-do bedroom floor plan, and add new windows, electrical, plumbing…want to keep our lovely plaster walls! any recommendations?

I’m doing something similar right now – 3 floor-through units being renovated on a budget.  (tight enough that i can’t replace the 1980s windows yet).  New systems throughout, but I’m keeping original details where possible (window surrounds, the better parquet flooring, etc) and going for simple & clean everywhere else.  My architect (www.bparc.com) has worked around my main constraint — the almost unreasonably tight budget — and still been creative enough to arrive at the layouts & scope i was looking for.
