Need a Structural Engineer Inspection for a Damaged Girder

Hi All, Looking for a reliable and knowledgeable structural engineer, familiar with brownstone structure, to provide an inspection on a water and termite damaged girder.  Our situation is that we are considering purchasing a brownstone where the home inspector/termite inspector identified this issue.  Seller has agreed to repair, not replace the girder.  I would like a knowledgeable professional to assist with our decission.  Any information on cost estimate for this service is also appreciated. Hi, short answer is no, we did not find anyone.  The seller actually wound up doing a pretty thorough job in repairing the exisitng beam.  They sandwiched two steel plates on either side of the beam spanning the entire length of the beam and into the foundation walls.  Steel plates were secured with carriage bolts going through both plates and beam.  We feel that this will buy us some time and will allow us to put some money into more immediate needs (ie-new roof and conversion of heating system to gas).  I am going to have additional termite treatment done and probably install a few lally columns under the beam to ensure it’s stability until we can replace it.  Overall, the house has settled about 2″ over it’s 100+ years so I think we should have some time.

Did you find anyone to do this?  We have a similar situation where we need to replace a termite damaged lintel.
