looking for a place that buys used appliances

We have some appliances to sell. Can anyone point us in the direction of places in Brooklyn that buy used appliances? We have a fridge, a washing machine, a dryer, a small dishwasher, and two ranges. They are all in fine shape. Any suggetions would be very appreciated.

We sold all our old appliances (also our old cabinets and countertops!) on Craig’s List when we renovated the kitchen. We’d have been happy just to have everything removed from the premises and properly discarded for free and were surprised at how much interest there was in purchasing everything. It was all pretty low end stuff – the original builder’s generic formica and white enamel appliances, but it all sold very quickly.

you could also try selling the appliances on ebay or amazon.

Last year I cleaned out a three family house. I conducted a search of used appliance vendors who were willing to purchase appliances and had no luck finding any. I then listed the appliances on Craigslist and sold everything. There is sufficient demand for used appliances that are in good condition and are reasonably priced. This took some time because I listed the appliances individually, but ultimately was a rewarding experience. Good luck.
