Make sure you go into the deal with your DUKES up!! You’ll sign a contract and Massada(Selller) will hold up on signing until they get a higher offer. It’s a shame there isn’t more reinforcement on construction permits and ethical business practice with these smaller investment groups/filppers; but then again Brooklyn’s DOB divison is just as corrupt. Bedstuy and Bushwick seem to be the wild west of NYC real estate right now.

An employee of massada home sales. They work with people who flip houses and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flipped house that meets building code. Other brokers sell flipped houses too (I’ve seen a few on corcoran and other sites) but I think Masadda does almost all flips. It seems that the flipper gets a distressed property, hires the cheapest labor availableto renovate it, and then sells the property. Sometimes they’ll wait for the house to go into contract before renovating it to build it to buyer’s spec. This type of arrangement has all sorts of problems baked into it.
