Can I get my credit fee back after realtor severely botches application?

We have learned that the listing agent misrepresented us as no-credit-havin’, not-enough-money-makin’ deadbeats to the landlord of an apartment we LOVED. He did this by not reviewing or even submitting ALL of the documents we sent to him. This of course left a really bad first impression with the owner that was unrepairable and thus we lost our chance. We want our money back on principle.  If we request a credit check fee refund or dispute the charge on our credit card, can this realty company retaliate against us in any way? (i.e. harm our credit or blacklist us?) You might be asking, “just call them and tell them that they F’d up and give you your money back.” We have all of our info from our agent who does not hold the listing. This will betray him since he is our source.  We don’t know exactly what to do here but someone should pay. And we know it’s not our fault. What shall we do?

Yes, go after them any way you can.  And your agent should be fighting for you too, rather than you being worried about them finding out your agent was the source…forget about that.  And figure out where you can file a complaint against the agent, or use the threat of such to get your money back.

How much was the credit check? Not that it matters…but if they charged you $25 or more theyre BS artists. They wont go through the trouble of going after you for a small amount of money its not worth their time…do what you got to do.
